This week I celebrate my birthday. No, I won’t tell you which one. Let’s just say I stopped counting a long time ago! While occasionally a creaky knee or glance in the mirror reminds me of my age, most of the time I feel decades younger than I really am. You could say I’m young at heart.
I recently read an article in Success magazine that included 9 tips from Harvey Mackay for staying young at heart. It’s all about your attitude and making a few important, very intentional choices. Here are Mackay’s tips:
- Keep only cheerful, positive friends.
- Keep learning.
- Enjoy the simple things.
- Laugh often.
- Stay in shape.
- Be happy.
- Don’t stress out.
- Don’t take guilt trips.
- Visualize yourself as youthful and with endless energy.
I love these. Excellent advice for everyone—no matter your age! Not only great advice for staying young at heart, but also for achieving greater success—no matter how you define success.
By following nearly all of the above strategies for success, I really have stayed young at heart, no matter how many birthdays I have or haven’t counted!
How about you, are you young at heart? Do you have any tips you’d add to the above list? Please share in the comments below!
