Whether it’s as simple as your daily routine or how you shake hands, or as significant as what words appear most in your vocabulary or how you respond to pressure in the workplace, habits control a very large portion of your daily life.

In fact, habits likely dictated when and how you went about reading this article, and habits will also heavily influence what you do once you finish reading it!

I sincerely believe that nothing else has a greater influence on your success or lack of success than your habits. In an article I wrote back in 2009 I adamantly asserted,

The most imperative and proven success principle in the world is to better align your habits in support of that which you want to become, achieve, and leave as your legacy. Nothing has a stronger impact in your life than your habits. Absolutely nothing!”

I still firmly believe this. Habit is an incredibly powerful force in my life, your life—everyone’s life! The good news is that the power of habit can absolutely be leveraged for greater success, and it is exactly that—the positive power of habit—which will help you achieve greater success and become a truly inspirational leader.

So how do you leverage the power of habit? In the next few weeks we will look at some strategies for doing just that, and even examine a few specific habits that you might want to eliminate, change, or begin in order to achieve greater success—personally, professionally, and organizationally.
