It was my honor to keynote a recent Healthcare Distribution Management Association (HDMA) meeting in Wilmington, Delaware. The executives and professionals who attended this meeting are smart, driven, mission-focused people who are working to improve healthcare and the healthcare system throughout the United States. I salute their work and their results!

The focus of the presentation and discussion was Achieve Greater Success: Improve and Leverage Your Strengths. We discussed the critically important premise that focusing on, improving, applying, and leveraging your strengths is by far the most effective and efficient way to achieve whatever you most desire.

Focusing on specific strengths of some of the most influential leaders in the world—U.S. Presidents—we took a virtual, photographic tour across America, visiting each and every United States Presidential Library and Museum in America. No politics were discussed; the only question was, “what can we learn from these world leaders and their strengths?”

Other concepts and strategies emphasized included:

  • The importance and effectiveness of learning from world-class leaders and achievers.
  • How to create and use a success system that never fails.
  • Why you shouldn’t allow others to define your success.
  • How we are all dominated by our habits, and therefore we must form good habits and become their slave!
  • Why it pays to be an encourager.
  • How everyone should purposefully and intentionally become and remain a teacher, because one of the best ways to learn is to teach!

Throughout the presentation and discussion we reflected on our own strengths and celebrated our individual and collective uniquenesses, diversity, and potential. Participants left with specific, high-impact principles, concepts, and strategies to help make 2016 the best and most successful year of their life.

7 Strategies for Achieving Greater Success

The presentation and discussion concluded with this call to action:

  1. Clearly define success for YOU.
  2. Focus on and leverage your strengths.
  3. Apply a success system that never fails.
  4. Be the best that YOU can be.
  5. Remember, “If it’s to be, it’s up to me,” and “The future belongs to those who prepare for it.”
  6. Be an Inspirational Leader: Engage, Inspire, Empower (which is also the title of my upcoming book).
  7. Always strive for leadership excellence, which is the ultimate strategy for success!

I urge you to use and leverage these critically important concepts and strategies to ACHIEVE GREATER SUCCESS—personally, professionally, and organizationally. Make 2016 the best and most successful year of your life by IMPROVING AND LEVERAGING YOUR STRENGTHS!
