Have you ever felt like you just couldn’t do something? That the odds were too great, the challenge too big, or your ability too small? I know I have. I think we all feel that way at some point in our lives.

But when I lack confidence in my ability to tackle a challenge, it’s amazing how an inspiring story of others overcoming adversity can stir my heart and encourage me to persevere. I recently read such a story, and want to pass it on to you.

It’s the story of two friends in central China who have been planting trees together for more than a decade. Their friendship, their shared passion for what they do, and their unique individual perspectives have allowed them to beat unimaginable odds and truly overcome adversity. One of the men, Jia Haixia, is blind in both eyes. The other man, Jia Wenqi, has no arms.

I encourage you to read their incredible story here.

No matter who you are, what your limitations are, or what challenge you’re facing, there is always hope, and always a chance for good in the midst of the bad.
