No matter who you are, where you work, or what your title is, you are in a position of leadership. Title or no title, we all influence those around us with our words and actions, and you’ve heard it said before, Leadership is Influence.

As a leader, where is your focus? What is your purpose and what is your mission?

World-renowned author and leadership expert John Maxwell states his leadership mission in two words:

“Adding Value.”

Maxwell explains,

“That’s what I set out to do every day with my blog and social media. It’s why I speak to thousands of people every year. It’s my reason for writing every one of my books. There is nothing I enjoy more than adding value to people – through my communication, giving them something they can take away and use to grow and make a difference.”

How about you? Can your mission as a leader be summed up in these two words? Do you actively strive to add value to every person whom you influence by your leadership – by your words and your actions?

I don’t know about you, but I can’t think of a single better personal mission statement to adopt and pursue!

Your Mission as a Leader: Adding Value – Everyday, to Everyone!
