A recent issue of The Modern Servant Leader blog (http://modernservantleader.com) featured an article by Benjamin Lichtenwalner asking readers to think about whether they are a climber or a contributor.  This is an excellent question worthy of careful thought, conclusions and appropriate actions!

Which are you, a climber or a contributor?  The honest truth will make a drastic difference in your personal and professional life and legacy!

“The Climber seeks first to climb the career ladder.  The Contributor seeks first to contribute to the tribe.

Climbers only contribute if it will help them climb.  Contributors only climb if it will enable them to contribute more.

Climbers seek to promote themselves over their peers.  Contributors seek to promote their peers and tribe.

Climbers jockey for position.  Contributors jockey for results.

Climbers worry about perception.  Contributors worry about reality.

Climbers think and act tactically.  Contributors think and act strategically.

Climbers distribute the blame.  Contributors accept the blame.

Climbers accept the praise.  Contributors distribute the praise.”

Which are you – an excellent question!  The answer will have a huge impact on your personal and professional life!  Which are you, a climber or a contributor?
