The Critical Importance of Your Circle

C.S. Lewis wrote, “The next best thing to being wise oneself is to live in a circle of those who are.”  That is one powerful statement!  Excellent advice that will, if heeded, significantly improve your leadership and your positive impact as you move through life.

The most effective leaders very carefully select those who are within their circle.  Particularly, their inner circle!  John Maxwell and other highly respected leadership experts have written extensively regarding the powerful impact (good or bad) made by those you select and allow within your circle.

The choices you make in terms of those you allow to live within your circle, particularly your inner circle, are some of the most important choices of your entire life!  Without doubt, your choices will bear fruit.  The only question is. “What kind of fruit?”

We would all do well to set aside some quality time, on a regular basis to carefully examine who we have selected, by invitation or action, to live within our circle.  Is each and every person within our circle building us up, or tearing us down?  Is each member of our circle making a positive influence, or negative influence?  Is each and every one of them making positive contributions, or negative, or none at all?

Schedule some time to carefully examine the impact of each and every person you are allowing, by invitation or action, to live within your circle.  And, be sure you are making significant positive contributions to those who allow you to live within their circle!

Your circle is critical to your leadership impact and your success!
