Stick It Out – Learn All You Can – Then Move On

Each and every one of us have found ourselves in very difficult and very stressful personal, professional and organizational situations.  If you are alive and breathing, it is virtually 100% guaranteed that you will be challenged with more of the same in the future.

As the saying goes… “That’s life!”

Regardless of who you are, how successful you may be, or how much money, power and influence you may have, as long as you are living you will be challenged by difficult, sometimes extremely difficult, stressful and painful situations.

In large measure, your choices and decisions during these very difficult times will determine the success, legacy and impact of your personal and professional life.

In almost all cases, the worst decision is to quit, walk away, throw up your hands, or give up on people and the situation.  In almost all cases, the far better and more effective decision is to stick it out – learn all you can – and then carefully and deliberately move on.

Study the personal and professional lives of the most successful people in all walks of life, including all professions and industries.  Presidents, Prime Ministers, self-made billionaires, world-class teachers, highly successful leaders… they were all challenged and tested, many times severely, on multiple occasions and in diverse situations.

What do all of these successful people have in common?  They stuck it out – they learned all they could while sticking it out – and then they carefully and deliberately moved on and applied what they had learned.

Don’t quit, walk away, throw up your hands, or give up on people and the situation.  Stick it out – learn all you can – and then carefully and deliberately move on.

In virtually all cases, you will look back with satisfaction and gratitude for all you learned.  Application of the knowledge and wisdom acquired will accelerate your journey to where you want to be and what you want to accomplish in service to others.
